Its Back to School time for an eye sight test

Its Back to School time for an eye sight test

Posted on August 15, 2025

Back-to-school season often means getting new glasses or updating existing ones for students. It's important to consider both the functional and fashionable aspects of eyewear for the new school year. This includes ensuring a proper fit, comfortable frames and an up-to-date eye test. We’ve created a dedicated space for kids and teens so that they can feel relaxed in the process.

Always remember:

1. Get an Updated Eye Exam:

  • An annual eye exam is crucial for detecting any vision changes and ensuring the correct prescription.
  • Many children may have undiagnosed vision problems, making an exam before the school year essential, according to the American Optometric Association.

2. Choose Durable Frames:

  • Kids are active, so teaching kids how to look after their glasses is important.
  • Our frames are bold, colourful and durable.
  • Look for frames that fit well and are comfortable for extended wear.

3. Involve Kids in the Selection Process:

  • Letting children choose their frames can increase their confidence and willingness to wear their glasses.
  • Consider their preferences for colours and styles while ensuring the frames are suitable and durable.

4. Consider a Backup Pair:

  • Accidents happen, so having a spare pair of glasses ensures that your child can always see clearly, even if the primary pair is lost or broken.

5. Adjusting to New Glasses:

  • It's normal for children to need time to adjust to new glasses.
  • Start by having them wear the glasses for short periods.
